Hello everyone, I\'d like to let you all know about a phenomenal piece of software I\'ve discovered, AdBlock Pro. Here’s an the publisher’s description of the product:

It features a smart engine that can identify possible ads and remove them even before you can see them. AdBlocker Pro can block annoying pop-ups, banner, flyins ,flash, ActiveX ads and other Internet Ad annoyances. It not only eliminates the annoyance, but improves your surfing speed as well.
This amazing little program uses next to no system resources and completely blocks any and all ads from the web page you are browsing. As a parent, I can\'t tell you how frustrating it is to be browsing the internet only to have multiple sexual or offensive ads display on my screen. Unfortunately, parental controls don\'t block most ads on the internet similarly to how parental controls on cable and satellite television receivers don\'t block inappropriate commercials. I must say, this program is amazing! I am able to browse the web, even OC, without any annoying or obscene advertisements being displayed. AdBock Pro is mainly intended for Internet Explorer users as Firefox and Opera have their own Ad Block widgets available for download.

If anyone is using Firefox3, it might not work. read the reviews before downloading.

It works for any browser and any internet activity that uses domain names. You can as easily block an ad server as you can block a whole website.
Generally this program will take care of most of the work for you though you may also add your own sites to it to block them.

Not all ads and banners are a bad thing. I have learned about many new, worthwhile sites and products from Banners and links...
I would never have found the Orthodox Circle had I utilized Blocking software. We must remember the Internet is only successful because of it potential advertising revenue. Without commercial capitalization the Internet would still be available only at University, Think tank and Government levels as it was in the 60\'s & 70\\"s. Yes, it\'s been around that long. So I think I\'ll live with the ads and try to filter the trash. Besides I really respect good advertising.

Well I just wanted to let people know there is a great program for IE7 that can block ads. For me, personally, I am happy to be able to block this content as nine times out of ten the ads contain some type of gimmick, are completely deceitful, are of an \\"adult\\" nature etc.. You can also put certain web-sites on your safe list as well. Believe me when I tell you it is nice to know you can browse the web, even with your kids around, without ever having some elicit pop up or advertisement displayed.

There\'s a add-on for Firefox called AdBlock Plus that serves the same purpose.

AdBlock Plus works by subscribing to a regularly updated list of filters and I find that this list is comprehensive enough that I rarely see anything get past it. You can also define your own filters for those few instances that something does get past (which is pretty easy, just hover over the ad, whereupon a little \\"Block\\" tab will show up, click the \\"Block\\" tab, and then click \\"OK\\" on the dialog box that pops up).

That\'s ok. I know in the past you\'ve made corrections but I\'d imagine getting so many requests to make corrections gets a little tedious and of course you\'re job is not to edit posts but to moderate so I can certainly understand. I\'m not going to repost, the information is already there. I just hate to have such a bad typo in the title is all. :(
