Hi, Katharina! Blessings from Romania!May the Theotokos strenghten you on your journey! You should know that what you are experiencing in your family is not uncommon. Even in Orthodox countries like Romania there are couples that, although baptized, do not live an Evangelical lives. If the husband or the wife returns to the Church and attends the Liturgy, finds a spiritual father and tries follow the path of the Holy Fathers, their spouse might try to discourage them. But, I am happy to confess that the husband of one of our friends has recently started to attent the Liturgy with her. She has been praying a lot for him to find Christ. My advice to you is to continue to attend the Liturgy every Sunday and look for the guidance of the parish priest.Follow the Brückmann family. One of their daughters, Ekatharina, often sings with Father Vlad RoÈ™u. Here is a clip they recorded in Munich. Also read about the life and trials of Saint Martyr Alexander Schmorell, or Saint Alexander of Munich.I hope this helps. Take care!

Hello dear all,My name is Katharina and I am from Germany. My husband and I are Baptists but 2y ago, I found Orthodoxy. My husband is not so happy about it. He does not forbid me to go to an Orthodox Church, but he says his advice is that I shouldn't go, so that our family is not divided. We have a 5y old daughter. I went only once to a Greek Orthodox Church close by and spoke only briefly with the Father there. In our Baptist Church, our pastor recently blessed a homosexual couple. I stopped going. The church is now discussing about the whole situation and what to do. The situation is not easy for me, and us. I would be happy to find an Orthodox sister who would encourage and advise me. I feel confused and lonely.God bless you all

Hi Dan! Welcome. It can take some time to feel completely at home with Orthodoxy, so it's good you're reaching out to meet people. Do you attend liturgy regularly yet, and coffee hour afterwards?
Welcome, Dan! May the grace of the Holy Spirit guide you on your journey!
Hello, I'm 27 and in Houston, found this through discord while trying to search for an orthodox girlfriend. Didn't realize how extensive this site is and all it has to offer. Looking forward to exploring some things and deepening my understanding hereif anyone in the app is in Houston or Texas please say hello, don't be a stranger :)
Welcome Emily! Glad you joined us. I'm sure you'll meet some great Orthodox people here. We also have some exciting new things coming soon on the site. Stay tuned. God bless you!
Thank you, Cristin! I actually spent a couple of days in Bucharest in May 2008 while traveling around Europe with a friend. At the time, I didn't know what Orthodoxy even was but kept finding myself drawn into all of these beautiful churches, thinking they must be Catholic. I think I even lit candles and venerated icons, having no idea what I was doing! My friend was atheist so she wasn't quite as excited but thankfully she let me keep dragging her into the churches.
Greetings! I'm hoping there are still people who use this site regularly. I would really like to meet people who say morning and evening prayers, attend services regularly, and are devoted to Orthodoxy as a way of life. Please be my friend. :innocent:
