Traditionally, in monastic houses and parishes with the congregations and resources to do it, there are three Divine Liturgies celebrated for Christmas: the Mass During the Night, the Mass at Dawn, and the Mass During the Day. This is the first of those Divine Liturgies, celebrated according to the Gallican Rite as restored by St John of Saint-Denis.
This is the Western Orthodox Divine Liturgy according to St Germanus, celebrated without a full complement of clergy in a small, young, missionary parish in Manchester, UK. It was part of our first celebration of Christmas since having been provided with the services of a priest earlier in the same year. It is offered here as a humble example of a Western Orthodox celebration of this Liturgy in English.
