My name is Jovana and I am an Orthodox Christian but more specifically a Serbian Orthodox Christian. I live in South Africa but I’ve been to Serbia (I lived there a year after School) and I speak and read it fluently but my writing in Serbian is a little dodgy
I’ve been an Orthodox Serb my entire life, growing up on the plot of my Church as my father did the liturgy every morning but when we moved away from the Church, and to a new province I never stopped believing but I don’t think I was living the faith.
Recently, in my boyfriend’s path to find God, I found myself trying to teach him about the Orthodox Way and ended up learning more and more myself, and discovering a new sense of thirst for the Orthodox Faith. Ever since then I have been going to Church but not my own since the only Serbian orthodox church in South Africa is in Johannesburg and I live in Bloemfontein, therefore I go to the Greek Orthodox Church every Sunday now except when I visit my parents out of town.
I found myself needing to interact more with orthodox Christians and decide to find a source online due to the limitation in my current area!
I look forward to meeting many of you and learning more and more about God and my faith.
