If you see this image as a girl spinning counterclockwise, you are left brain dominant. If it appears to be spinning clockwise, you are right brain dominant.

I\'ve always considered myself right-brained (when I\'m not hare-brained). But, I must say, (once I concentrated and figured out what clockwise and counterclockwise would be), I saw her moving counterclockwise. As for the other two visuals, they remind me of acid flashbacks.

definately counterclockwise. HOW IN THE WORLD does it go clockwise, or switch, or stay still? unless your internet is slow and randomly stalls like mine does, then it is not still....how is it anything other than counter? wow. you are sad.
Another test is...Cross your arms.
Whatever arm is \"on top,\" you are the opposite brained, because each side if the brain controls the opposite side of the body.

I only see her going clockwise- don\'t see how she could be doing anything else

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson were camping, whereupon Holmes woke Dr. Watson and asked him what he saw. Watson began to reply about the night sky, and the bright stars. He stopped, his observations of the sky, and Holmes replied,\" Someone has stolen our tent!\"
The silhouette of the female figure, is balanced upon her right foot (apparently on a mirrored plane). Her left arm is down to her side, with her right arm extended in the direction of her pirouette. Spinning to her right, she therefore has to be spinning clockwise.
\"Eyes and ears Watson, eyes and ears.\"

I think you\'ve got the legs mixed, Holmes.
When she is balanced on her right leg, she is spinning anticlockwise.
When she is balanced on her left leg, she is spinning clockwise.

Hopefully she\'s the one who took the tent. Will someone put clothes on her!?!? :)

i am dizzy, she is moving from clockwise to counterclockwise...and I\'m an artisit for a living. Does that mean I should rethink my career :)

Wow. That\'s amazing.
I thought people who said she was moving clockwise were just messing with the rest of us. I found that the key to getting her to \'switch\' is to look at the shadow.
First I had to analyze (heh, left brain) what her spatial location would be like in each case. Then I found myself thinking \"far, near, far, near, ...\" in time with the animation to bring her where I thought she \"should\" be.
Really quite neat!

Alright Watson, tell me, how this infernal illusion is possible, for our maiden verily does seem to stop and pirouette in the opposite direction.

It\'s elementary, my dear Holmes. She is not actually spinning. She is not even a \"she\" except that we assign her such a pronoun.
In reality, it is only a bunch of dots that change from black to white at the precise time which cause the viewer to associate the image with that of a spinning girl.
Either that, or the butler did it.

Technically this illusion is possible only when the spinning girl is far away. After all, the illusion relies on being unable to tell the difference between the near and far parts of the cycle.
Because of perspective, her outstretched leg will always appear larger on the near part of the cycle than on the far part. If she\'s \"far away enough\", the percent difference will be too small to notice.
Of course, if she\'s *too* far away then she\'ll be too small to see. So you have to strike a balance of sorts. :)
