Drev, you make it sound as though the Orthodox who are today living in Southern Serbia are the ones reclining in their comforters, remote control in hand watching ESPN or CNN and just blatantly disregarding what’s going on in their neighborhoods... as if they\'re just not caring enough, eh? Orthodoxy is not a door to door religion, we are not Jehovah’s Witnesses. If you had, say, an influx of criminal gangs move into your community what would your Priest advise you?! I am sure he\'d tell you to pray for them and to stay away! I don\'t know of any Priest that would advise an Orthodox Christian or an Orthodox family to walk into gangland USA or any other dangerous situation as such.
Serbia is a Sovereign Orthodox nation and has been for many centuries through many wars, trails and tribulations. What is being done to her is torture and it is criminal.
Some of the messages on these forums regarding what’s happening over there are simply shocking and wrong and are so grossly incorrect and negligent. Some of the replies and messages I have read are truly disturbing as well. In one message. from someone who shares a similar view to your own, I was told not to sign off my message to him with \"Good Luck\" as he is a 20th Century Christian and not some peasant who believes in superstitious nonsense, What then is a 20th Centaury Christian? Am I some superstitious old peasant? This is bigotry.
Serbia is a Sovereign Nation and will remain as such. Peasants or not.
