We are not biblical literalists... The bible also doesn't mention icons but we still venerate them <img src="https://orthodoxcircle.com/file/pic/emoticon/default/smile.png" alt="Smile" title="Smile" title="v_middle" />

Also most icons have the writers signature on it... If it's not visible it's usually hidden well with the tempra

This is an interesting discussion. When I first saw this image, I thought it was sentimental but in a good way.
