Roman and Ivan are the iconographers we hired to paint a beautiful Hospitality of Abraham icon in the apse of our new trapeza. It depicts the famous scene when Abraham and Sarah gave hospitality to three strangers who turned out to be angels, seen by the Church as a manifestation of the Holy Trinity. This hospitality to strangers is the reason the icon has been chosen for the most prominent place in the monastery trapeza.
In this new timelapse video, we see the icon come to life before our eyes. Roman and Ivan's work is stunning, the fruit of their prayerful and sober approach to their work. We are grateful for the blessing they have given us with this new icon. They are also currently painting the iconography at St. Basil's Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
Glory to God for all things!
