Hi everybody,

I was wondering if there are any other parishless people on the OC and what would you normally read on Sundays and feasts on your home-family church. Both Typika and Orthros (maitins) seem to be complete services for those of us who do not have the presence of a priest nor a periodical visit. Which of these services do you prefer and why?

Thanks for your input.

As a priest I would suggest both. Matins prepares us for the Typica and instructs us on the saints of the day. The Typica is a shortened version of the Divine Liturgy. I would also suggest to take antidoran and holy water after the services.
you might chech out the web site the dynamic horlogian & psalter at http://orthodox.seasidehosting.st/current_service.
Thank you Father. By suggesting both of them, you mean simultaneously? (maitins and then typika on a same day) or do you mean both of them are OK alternating between each other? Thanks again!

I would do both on the same day.
