Hello to everybody! I\'m glad to be here :) My friend told me about this communion just when I started to think about seeking for Orthodox people from other corners of the world. So I\'m pretty excited and eager to have a look around.
I was christened 5 years ago... I\'m interested in theology, history of the Church and many others things. It would be great to meet and make friends with Orthodox people from different corners of the world. So you are more than welcome to write and send me messages! :)

Thank you everybody for welcoming me :) As for the blog, it can be read by a person who comes to check on my profile, right? I\'ve seen something like \\"community blogs\\" here and there\'s also a possibility to have a personal one where I can write whatever I think is worth mentioning, did I get it right? :)

June-Welcome!! I came to the Orthodox faith via my youngest child Alex-adopted from Saratov, Russia in 2004. Your english language and grammar is excellent so you should meet people quickly. Glad you\'re here.

Hello and welcome to Orthodox Circle. I have been on this site only a few days and am also new to Orthodoxy. I come from a Protestant background so there are some things about Orthodoxy I like and some I struggle with. Currently I am reading a book about the history of the Orthodox Church in Russia. Once I am finished I have a few other books I want to read, but someday I would like to read a general history of Russia, a country I know very little about. I know the country has been around for a long time (not to mention it is the largest country in the world), but would you happen to have any recommendations?

I\'d like to thank all of you for welcoming me :)
Gamliel, I\'d be glad to recommend you something and be of any help to you in discovering Russia. I need to brush up on my knowledge of native history myself. I\'ll think about the books that could be interesting for you.

Yes, I\'m from Mosccow :) I\'ve never been to this church but I know that it\'s a representation of American Orthodox Church.
P.S. Question to all the members: how do people usually make friends in this community? Do they get in touch mostly via private messages or through this Forum or perhaps by posting in the groups they belong to? I\'d really like to not just leave a message here and there once in a while but to meet orthodox people from different places :) Of course, I understand that friendship needs time and good will to develop but I have to start making the first steps! :)
