I found this music video from a Russian rock band called \"Alisa\" on youtube. I have no clue what they are saying, but there are clips of Orthodoxy in it (including Patriarch Alexey II!)

Sorry, a couple of oversights. The part where they show the communists, Muslims, and Jews, the text reads, \"How many jackals and hounds/bare their teeth from every direction/at the gold of our grain,/at the gold of our icons.\"
And for those of you keeping score, I missed a fourth \"enemy\": an American navy vessel (moment 2:10).

Really?
Wow.
Well, it is nice to know what the song is about (no knowledge of Russian except for very few words). Thanks for letting me know.
Anyone else: forgive me for my ignorance.

Not saying anything in support of the song, but it\'s worth noting that this particular video was an unofficial compilation not created by Alisa.

It\'s a terrible band. Orthodoxy became somewhat of a political hobby these days in Russia. One of their albums is called Solncevorot, which is the name for the Russian swastika.

MitchC thank you very much for the clip. Although I live in Russia, I have not seen. This is the best that I have seen at Alice. The song about our great ancestor, the great and mighty Rusi, which has always struggled with their enemies.
And who is pouring mud - not to be confused notions of patriotism and nationalism.

I think the confusion is who our enemy is. The true enemy is Satan, who lives comfortably in each of us sinners. He is the dog that bares his teeth, not the Jews and Muslims. He is the enemy that each of us has to fight.

So explain, if you would be so kind. I\'ve read the lyrics, and I\'ve said what I understand.
The line between \"patriot\" and \"nationalist\" is very fine. This is why a lot of people believe this group to be fascists.

I did a little search to find out more about the band \"AlisA\". I didn\'t come up with much.
I think I would leave it to the Russian citizens and fans of the band to decide if the song is promoting nationalistic views or not.
Anyone wanna talk about the Dixie Chicks?

drevyev, you understand words, but the meaning of the song does not. About sense of the songs I wrote briefly above. This is a good song patriotic rather than nationalists, fascists.
About a group soloist, I can reliably tell that this is a Christian Orthodox believer.

Here is how I understand the song. The song is about the citizens of Rus\' fighting against their external enemies. This is why many of the images are of enemies (Communists, Muslims, Jews, Americans, brand logos), alongside bishops blessing soldiers. The video addresses fighting for the Kingdom of Rus\', not the Kingdom of Heaven.
I have heard people claim that the lead singer is a good, Orthodox Christian. He sings in this song, \"From the beginning of time it was granted to the soldier . . . simply to die with God [alongside him].\" Some would say that there\'s nothing wrong with loving one\'s country. This is even a Christian duty.
Nevertheless, one forgets the quote, \"For the Christian, every homeland is a foreign land, and every foreign land is a homeland.\" Our goal is to attain the Kingdom of Heaven and to beat the enemies that keep us from it, not to incite war against our enemies in this kingdom.
Finally, I wonder about the piety of this singer, if that is the issue for some. Their video for \"Antichrist\" is pornographic.

Are you sure you're not over-reacting? I'm not saying that I disagree with you just that it seems a bit strong to say that their "video for antichrist is pornographic, particularly when we've been told by others that they are, in fact, Orthodox Christians.
Don\'t trust me on this. Just click on the clip on the sidebar with the picture of the man sucking on the toes. Watch the video yourself, but be warned that the video is pornographic.
Now, I will be honest in repeating what has been noted above, that these videos are unofficial. I don\'t know if the group endorses them or not. However, I know that the songs of Alisa are used by nationalist and pornographers for making videos.
On one site I read, a Muslim kid was asking whether he should go to an Alisa concert. His friends all warned him against it because a lot of skinheads come to these concerts.
As for the patriotism question, I\'ll start a new thread.

youtube is a conglomeration of people uploading whatever they want. It used to be that you could report any offensive video which would then be removed from the public views and be viewable by logging on. I don\'t see the \'report\' button anymore.
Anyway, the second video you watched, drevyev, was posted by an entirely different username.
I don\'t think you\'re over-reacting, as the videos are questionable - but you are mis-directing your opinions about the band and the artists. They had nothing to do with the videos. If you want, you should post your comments on the videos on youtube rather than here.

sad (((I do not think that the Orthodox Americans are the same as other Americans. Regrettably, we do not understand each other.
