Apologies for not thanking immediately to all the welcome I have received but I never saw it:) I must admit that I am bit technologically challenged :))))))
Was it Solovjev that said that the church is only a group of sinners who are trying to save themselves?
So, we are all there, I believe.
As far as stories are concerned, I can tell you many.
Starting with a matrici story. In those times pupils finishing classical grammar school had to write a 25-30 pages paper in the subject of choice.
You must remember it was back in 1972, hard communism and not explicit going to church and so on.
So, anyway I chose the topic on social origins of religion and dedicated half of the paper to the theological interpretation of religion, but in the second half , of course I went though the usual staff - history of philosophy and a small bit about Marxism.
During that year, we had regular discussions and consultations with our professor about the paper .
It was also a standard practice that each student should be questioned by 3 professors and well, answer orally to all the questions.
My teacher cautioned me that the approach was unusual and that the conclusion was challenging.
As I persisted in my approach, his best way out of it was to give me a mark that enabled me not to go through the procedure - if all the marks were excellent a student was free from oral exam.
So much for now.
God bless and all the best,
Dana
PS. At the time I thought that it was a really great paper, now, as I got older I realized that he just wanted to protect me:)))
