I\'m currently reading \"Murder Must Advertize\". It is the second Lord Peter Wimsey novel I\'ve read, and I\'m starting to get the strangest feeling that while Wimsey may not represent something Christian or theologically Christian, he surely seems to embody aspects of the Church.
Any thoughts from those who have read the series?

I haven\'t read the Lord Wimsey series but have read some of her other mysteries. She also wrote some very good theological treatise like \'Creed or Chaos\' and the \'Whimsical Christian\' (the latter is a collection of her writings - well worth reading!

Thanks for the suggestions!
I found \"The Mind of the Maker\" online and am slowly reading through that. I\'ll be on the hunt for Sayers\'s work on my next trip to my local used book store.
Sincerely,
Mary

I think you\'ll find that feeling increase as you work through the series - the books become increasingly thoughtful and Lord Peter\'s character continues to deepen. There is definitely an element of spiritual struggle in a lot of the books.

I agree! :) I\'ve ended up reading \"Guady Night\" before \"Clouds of Witnesses\" and \"The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club\", so I\'ve seen maturity in Wimsey\'s character the later the books.
It\'s such a good series I think I may start them over once I\'ve finished reading them all the first time!
