Inclusive Language and Other Debates: An Orthodox Alumnus Answers his Advisor may be on the more controversial end of what I've posted, but while I don't believe egalitarianism and complementarianism are equally acceptable, asking a deeply rooted Orthodox \"Are you egalitarian or complementarian\" might best be viewed as like asking \"Are you Catholic or Protestant\", in terms of which it's not so much that the Orthodox answer is different as that the Orthodox question is different.
I don't really reach that level, or I barely reach it, in Inclusive Language and Other Debates: An Orthodox Alumnus Answers his Advisor, but it's still a step away from the Western option set towards Orthodoxy, or at least meant as such.
Whether I got it right, there seems to be something at stake here.

Note: I have expanded it, with a more thorough introduction primarily.

At the risk of giving a copout, if you are unfamiliar enough with the terms \"egalitarian\" and \"contemplementarian\" used without definition that much of your effort in responding is to point this out as a liability, count yourself lucky.

P.S.
I should probably add that I count that my least successful recent post. I think there's solid content there, and I tried to address some of the weaknesses, but it's not clear to me how much I succeeded.

You mention redefinitions; I was trying to write about redefinition of \"man\", \"brother\", etc. so that their traditional usage is redefined as unfair to women.

I've just posted a \"defining terms\" section to the first page of the \"inclusive\" language piece. I would welcome feedback on how little or much improvement it makes. Hit 'Reload' on the first page; you might not see the addition if you don't hit 'Reload'.
Thank you, Plentious!

Thank you! Any other suggestions besides your remark about defining terms?

One related note...
A bit before I joined the Orthodox Church, I wrote a thesis mentioned in the emails document that treats sophistry and problematic argument in Biblical Egalitarian scholarship.
I believe it is useful scholarship, if not really Orthodox theology in the sense of noetic beckoning to worship before the throne of God. But I thought you, Plentious, and any other people who had found the above document of interest might find this piece to be interesting, too. I think it makes a helpful complement to the other piece.
