Maybe it\'s because we have entered into lent, and folks are trying to find more orthodoxy on youtube (if that\'s possible)
as a result, some of the videos I psted of the Seoul cathedral are getting more hits, and more comments these days...
Some say \"oh it sounds so beautiful\" etc, and I agree... but then more often these days, I\'m getting comments like \"orthodoxy has no organs!\" \"kill the organ\" etc
The choir isn\'t confident that they could all sing the right tune together without it... so whatever, the organ doesn\'t interfere with the service..
back in the states I knew a few people who would practically drop a bomb in their pants if they entered a church with an organ - as if it\'s some kind of heresy
to me, this is like the pews issue... some folks seem to make such a big deal out of something that\'s not a big deal
but I\'m not well versed in the church canons... maybe Saint somethingerother of someplaceorother said \"organs are super evil and you should never use them because they play the devil\'s tunes\"... anyways, I just don\'t know what all the fuss is about...

Organs in Byzantium were part of a sports sports tradition, a little like electronic organs at baseball games in the US.
Strictly speaking, they\'re not really supposed to be there, but it\'s easy for Satan to make them into another of those externals to look at, taking your gaze away from Christ Himself. Satan works extra hard on making converts focus on externals. It\'s scary!
