I have something to say some of you may not like to hear but I feel that I must say it. It is the least that I can do and a shame on me if I do not. I have someone very dear to me, a young woman that turned 19 this March. They (her parents) left Serbia a month before she was born. Last summer she left the house of her parents and enlisted within the Serbian military. She is a tank commander right now stationed somewhere she can\'t disclose north of Kosovo. She had never even seen Serbia before last year but the whole time she wanted to go back and protect Kosovo and the Orthodox people there. A few days ago she was in tears crying to me out of frustration and anger. I had never heard her say the things she told me. I was terrified for her well being. \"I hate all Orthodox! None of them care for us. I remember when the whole bombing of Serbia happened in 99 when we went to non Serb Orthodox Churches and after liturgy I brought up the topic of conversation everyone looked at us like we were nationalist loonies. All I wanted them to do is agree with me that what was happening was wrong!\"
If you are like me and lived most of your life in America you probably have lived with the same lies being fed to you that i have. \"We had to bomb Serbia. Slobodan Milosevic was ethnicly cleansing every non Serb around.\"
Funny he didn\'t touch the large Vlach (Romanian) minorities all through out Serbia. That have lived along side Serbs for over a thousand years.
As Bill Clinton put it \"The moral fiber of the Serbian people leave me no choice.\" Or something of that nature.
I remember when on the news I saw Belgrade being bombed. Hospitals, bridges and other civilian buildings were hit by bombs. The people died and I said \"Oh what are the Serbs complaining about now? If they didn\'t start the war none of this would be happening.\"
Well here we are today. Years later and we find out that all of the supposed ethnic cleansing done by the Serbs never happened. Srebrenica was a hoax as was Racek. Yet we hear nothing about Krajina and Operation Flash and Storm where Croatians with the help of American \"retired generals\" bombed refugee columns of Serbs, dynomited houses, some still with people inside causing the largest wave refugee in the entire war. But do any of you even know where Krajina is? No, because the news doesn\'t tell us any of that. It is a region in Tito made Croatia where the Serbs have been living for hundreds of years. You will be lucky to find a single Serb family today in ethnicly cleansed Krajina.
And even today we get on the news \"Freedom and Independence of Kosovars.\" And because we are Americans we hear the key phrases. \"Freedom\", \"Independence\" and like yuppies we buy into it because things like Freedom and Independence are as American as baseball and apple pie. So how can it be bad? Didn\'t \"strong man\" Slobodan Milosevic try to ethnicly cleanse all non Serbs? Why shouldn\'t we let the Albanians who are the majority in Kosovo be their own country?
Did you know it wasn\'t that long ago when Kosovo was a majority of Serbs? During World War 2, Albanian Muslims poured in to VOLUNTEER for the Waffen SS Skanderbeg unit (Along with the Muslims who made up their own Waffen SS and the Croatians who\'s methods of killing Serbs frightened even the German Nazis.) and under the guidance of Facist Italy and Nazi Germany they slaughtered Serbs and injected their own population into Kosovo. After World War 2, Tito in an attempt to balance out Yugoslavia took steps to weaken the Serbs which were the largest population. Such as taking away Vardar and giving it the name \"Macedonia\" giving it a made up history. Such as giving autonomy to Vojvodina. And lastly but most relevant, autonomy to Kosovo and refused to allow any Serbs to re settle it while at the same time opening up the boarders to Albanians hoping to gradually make Albania part of Yugoslavia. The Albanians had another goal: \"Greater Albania.\" Which has been the goal ever since (and perhaps before) The Leagues of Prizren. They harrassed and abused Serbs forcing them to flee Kosovo until today where there is a 90 percent majority of Albanians.
Within the first 100 days of UN administration of Kosovo, 150 Orthodox Churches and Monestaries went down while 200 Mosques went up. The Albanians in Kosovo are dirt poor yet the Mosques are lined with gold leafs and like in Bosnia, some even fly the Saudi Arabian flag.
\"The Serbian people survived 500 years of suffering under the Ottoman Empire. They survived the atrocities commited under the Nazis by the facist Croatian and Muslim enemies. They survived under Tito\'s brutal communist system. But through our ignorance and gullibility and a delibirate concerted campaign of lies and disinformation to destroy these heroic people they are facing annihilation by a hostile world.\"

A lot of people PM me and ask me questions about my name \"Thief.\" I\'m a fairly old member here but I tend to keep more to myself. But when I first joined I wasn\'t sure what name to pick. I thought of the \"Good Thief\" by Christ\'s side and he is someone who I try to be like. Every time I read in Church or think to myself \"Remember me oh Lord in Thy Kingdom.\" I get a chill. And then \"Today you will be with me in paradise.\" Christ\'s reply gives me a bigger chill. We are all to show the same faithfulness as the Good Thief.
But how can we ask Christ to remember us when we\'ve forgotten our Orthodox brothers and sisters in Serbia?
When the Mahomedans get a funny picture drawn about their murderous \"prophet\" they all raise up in one loud voice.
What do we do? Why are we doing nothing? Do you look to your right and left and say \"well I can\'t do anything, i\'ll let someone else who can try.\"
WRONG.
As you say that the person beside you is thinking the same thing. It is up to YOU to inform yourself. Do whatever you can! The most important right now is to inform other Orthodox and other people in general of the situation.

You have to understand, we are at war. We have been under the threat of destruction for so long. And many of us have no idea. If we do nothing we risk losing more Orthodox lives. They will not stop at Kosovo. We already see Albanians flying banners in FYROM \"Macedonia\" saying \"Without independence in Macedonia there is no true justice.\"
Interesting thing my dear friend came across while patrolling in Serbia. At the boarder Albanians were holding up a banner.

Do you think the 21st century civilized? No. Nothing has changed by the year, that and technology but we are in the same troubles and threats. If WE don\'t do anything nobody will.
