No, I\'m not starting a discussion about incorporating Christianity into everyday life (but we can talk about that later if you like).
Does your parish offer activities or anything on days other than Sundays? Are there Bible study groups or youth or young adult meetings? Do you have classes or book clubs?
We have a Thursday morning Bible study. The teenagers meet every other Wednesday in someone\'s home to do fun things and discuss Orthodoxy with the priest and each other. The children meet once or twice a month at the church for activities. We keep trying to start a group for adults, but we never seem to get more than one or two meetings before it fizzles out.
What does your parish do?

My church has the usual Matins and Liturgy on Sundays and Saturday Vespers. To this we add some other service, either an Akathist or Vesperal Liturgy during the week. On alternating Saturdays, we have church school and inquirers class--which is attended also by people already Orthodox. Our OCF meets weekly with dinner every week and often has a bible study, service, or some kind of speaker.
Almost every month we have Men\'s and Women\'s Fellowship meetings. We also have daily Vespers Tuesdays and daily Matins Thursdays, usually. We also keep a pretty full complement of fasting and festal services.

We have Saturday Vespers, Sunday Matins & Liturgy, T/Th Matins, Wed Moleben & Bible study (or sometimes book study), plus festal services. The teens usually get together about twice a month, but our teen group is combined with the teens from the other Orthodox parish in town, b/c neither group is very large. Of course, during Great Lent, we have more services - adding in Presanctified Liturgy, Great Compline and an Akathist service (Moleben drops out then). For comparison, we average around 50 people at a typical Sunday Liturgy.

the Greek Orthodox Mission of Northern Arizona offers Saturday vespers, one liturgy per month that\'s not on a Friday, Bible studies that are on Thursday at lunch...
That\' just average. During lent there\'s presanctified liturgies (which I can\'t attend this semester thanks to night classes, D\'oh!), and then of course, Holy Week.

There are church services every day of the week at my church and usually a few other church meetings throughout the week.

Sadly if my church does have actives I usually don\'t get notified about them until its very late. Usually I\'ll get a list of events lets say for January\'s events around the 20-25th of January. This is the closest church to me in my state and it is a 2 hour drive just going one way. So I need a little lead time to make it. (getting there for just a normal Sunday service is very hard)
However one time a few years ago I got the activity list with two days notice that our Metropolitan would be there for unction and I was able to go. I finally got to meet my priest after the service (for the first time) and got to talk to him for perhaps 10-15 seconds before the metropolitan called for him.
Yep that\'s the extent of the time I\'ve had at church outside of the random times I\'ve had a chance to go to Sunday service. Heck one time I got notified that there was a big trip up to the town I live in for a ski vacation and I didn\'t know about it till after it was over.
Sucks to be me.

Oh com\'on Somsoc!
Don\'t they have a phone number!?!?!! Either listed in the yellow pages, or even goarch.org directory or the OCA whichever?!?!??!
Give them a call from time to time, find out if they have an email list!
You brake my heart!

Yes they have a phone number, and yes I have called it but often there is no answer, or no reply. I know they are understaffed, and overworked, hence why activity lists don\'t get to me till later. Yes I\'m on the email list but often it just details (like council elections). Yes they have a web site that doesn\'t get updated.
Any other ideas? I\'m not a priest and I\'m rather stuck living where I\'m at currently (taking care of my mother with breast cancer).
Remember the original question was what does my parish do, and that\'s what I answered based on my experience and situation. Perhaps I should have noted in the schedule of events I get they have stuff like dancing for kids or council elections? (IE events that I\'m not interested in or eligible for)

So, do those of you who have activities other than services at your parish participate? Are there activities you wish were available?
For those who don\'t have activities other than services, what kind of activities would you like?
