In over 200 years of Orthodox Christianity, women have not been eligible for ordination to the priesthood. So what\'s changed (doctrinally, theologically, historically, dogmatically) to allow them to be ordained?

What does ecuminism have to do with ordaining women?
Because we see them doing it Orthodox women will want to do it too? Like women didn\'t think about it until they saw the other religions doing it?

But if this does become a viable forum... there is a difference between the ordination of women to the deaconate and the ordination of women to the priesthood.
Since I personally DO NOT desire to be either I am not well read on this topic... but there is evidence to the ordination to women to the deaconate. Just so you know.
