I disagree. Why should we not be allowed to convey what “disturbs” us with the way things (or whatever for that matter) carry on within groups or the goings on, current state, future, and wellbeing etc. of the OC? We all have a right to express our thoughts, feelings, and joys as well as our frustrations and sadness when we feel the such. To take away the members’ rights to discuss what is on our minds and hearts is… well, wrong.
Yes, OC was created and intended to lift us up and bring us together in the spirit of Christ. However, there are, and always will be, occasions when subjects and issues come up that will be of a difficult and unpleasant nature. If we are unable to openly and freely discuss them and our personal take on them, we all lose out and ultimately fail to come to a communal resolution.
Some of the “guidelines” and “rules” of this site have always been somewhat disturbing to me. I understand their reason and intent, though I disagree that we should have certain “freedoms” kept from us. We all have varying views and feelings on the topics that come up, and we all should have the freedom and ability to openly discuss them and express their impact on us. We also should never have the ability taken away from us to bring up new topics we feel warrant open discussion within groups or on the forum. To restrict any topic from discussion or impose regulations within any current discussion is imperious.
I agree personal attacks should be suppressed and the better judgment of members should be exercised when tempted to post such comments. I do not commend anyone for making such attacks. However, with the proper use of constructive criticism and restraint of our emotions, we all should feel free to communicate our thoughts and feelings and make suggestions within this community.
Honestly, I think it’s wonderful that such passion has arisen in regards to the future of this site. It just goes to show the great importance of keeping OC available to as many people as possible. A great loss is to be incurred if things continue as planned. There’s no way around it and that has to be realized. Yes, we also need to realize that if things continue as they are, there are those who will feel loss in their personal lives that can not be justified.
God bless and keep all of you in His grace.

I thought this message seemed odd without including the message that initiated the discussion.
For those who aren\'t on the \"Keep OC Free\" group - this is the original message.

I\'m going to bring this up with the rest of the staff, but since the issue to be addressed is happening on this group, I thought I would post the note here first.
Here is what I am proposing (in truncated form) to the staff regarding arguments within groups.
Greetings Staff members.
I am disturbed by the way things carry on within groups which undermine the very purpose of what OC was created to encourage. I don\'t have a solution, other than posting a similar set of rules (or guidelines) as what was written for the forums regarding the proper decorum of interaction expected of all the participants.
Since it would be impossible for moderators to patrol the groups, perhaps the members should report an incident via PM which they feel needs to be addressed by a Staff member.

I agree with you, Stephen. I would MUCH rather we not need moderators at all, in the hope that every participant takes the responsibility for choosing their words carefully.
