Dear friends, Eventually, I believe maybe, God willing, I would like to study in a different way than just books, and look for some Orthodox software. Just to keep things interesting. I believe there is an Orthodox New Testament from Holy Apostles Convent available in software edition, but I already have the printed book, so maybe I\'ll wait awhile for that.
Anyway, do any of you use software to search the Church Fathers? Or other Orthodox writings?
It would be agreat blessing if there is ever
a software edition of Migne\'s Patrologia Graeca and Migne\'s Patrologia Latina available in software edition, together/alongside with a complete English language translation of all of Migne\'s collected/edited Greek and Latin texts. Most people probably don\'t read enough Greek or Latin to make much use of these texts. Also, it is important to obtain the meaning of these texts from the local priests and bishops and elders of the church; ordinary Orthodox writings from contemporary times can usually be understood somewhat better; but to understand the Church Fathers, we need some help not only from God (John 16:13), but from someone in the Church who can give us advice if there is anything we cannot or do not happen to understand in the Church writings from ancient times.
Anyway, I probably don\'t have enough time to read much software or Church Fathers, but I have read some Saint Photios and I have learned whatever it is that I actually know about the Church Fathers\' teachings from secondary sources such as Orthodox Tradition journal from Etna, CA.
Take care.
