Friends, All of our life with God should be about thanksgiving and gratefulness to Christ for Who He is and What He has done to make salvation possible for us when we receive Him in faith, working through love.
What I wonder is: how does an American tradition, a cultural holiday, like Thanksgiving, fit in with Orthodox liturgy?
Does the Church appropriate it as a feast?
Or is thanksgiving so much a part of the Orthodox liturgy, that no special day is called a day of thanksgiving?
Just wondering.
I guess this day came out of Puritanism or something.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, anyway, whether you are in the Church or not.
God bless us, everyone.
