Have any of you ever been to Erie, Pennsylvania? Have you ever lived in Erie, PA, worked here, or just visited?
I can take the jokes about Erie, but what do you think about the Orthodox Churches here? What do you think about the Orthodox Churches in your town?
If there is more than one Orthodox Church, which one do you prefer worshipping in?
Is it a matter of which one is closest to you, or which one has liturgy mostly in English so you can follow along? Or whatever?
Some churches in Erie are easier to
relate to because they don\'t have liturgy
as much in Greek. It\'s okay to have a foreign language church; but this is America, and the key to success for all churches is the use of the English language plus faithfulness to the truths of the Gospels.
Take care.

I blazed through Erie a number of years ago. A friend of mine who lived in Jamestown NY was flown by helicopter to Pittsburgh when a kidney became available for him. I drove to Jamestown (from Manhattan), picked up his family and drove them to Pittsburgh.
There are a few Orthodox Churches in our area. We didn\'t visit the other ones. I think the icon of St John the Baptist called us to stay at the Church of the Holy Transfiguration when we saw him.

Yes, I have, although I have never been to any of the churches there. We used to go to the lake all the time when I was a child. I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio (actually Campbell) on border of OH and PA. I was one of the first children baptized in our church Archangel Michael in Campbell..I have to say that\'s why my patron Saint is the Archangel Michael and it\'s my favorite church..my second favorite church is St. Nicholas Cathedral in Tarpon Springs, FL where I have spent most of my life.
