Dear friends, Have you heard about the Paschal Fire in Jerusalem?
I read about it in the book \"The Paschal Fire in Jerusalem\" which I obtained from the Center For Traditionalist Orthodox Studies in Etna, CA.
God bless all of you.

Yes actually and I honestly wish I had read more about it. When I was still a younger alter boy my priest told me about the whole event. At first, as a young kid I was skeptical, but then he told me about the fact that the Patriarch/the priests that enter the Holy Sepulchure are basically frisked to make sure that they have nothing that can even create a spark let alone a flame. Pretty amazing stuff. I wish there were more videos of the live event online, but alot of the ones on YouTube you can\'t tell what\'s going on because of poor quality.

Ya know I have heard of it and read a bit about it. But I\'ve never heard anything about what happens today. I was under the impression that in many years past the fire spread on its own from candle to candle only to the faithful (often only Orthodox). But today I assumed they go in with a lighter and the flame is passed on from candle to candle. I could be mistaken of course.
Also does any one else remember the Greek Patriarch almost coming to blows with the Armenian representative coming out just a few years ago, as in within 5 years? I always wondered if that was a real news report or like a scam to discredit.
