I was wondering if anyone knows of the story of a saint who walk along the shore and saw a boy or child pouring water from the sea or ocean into a whole in the ground. The saint asked him what he was doing and he replied that he was pouring the sea or ocean into the hole. The saint responded that it was impossible and the boy or child replied that what the saint was trying to do was impossible too. The boy or child was an angel that was sent by God to give the saint this lesson.
Does anybody know who the saint was? I remember reading this account but I can\'t find it. I forgot where I read it.
Much thanks for your help.

It\'s a story told of St Augustine. The child told him that he was pouring the sea into the hole with his bucket. St Augustine said it was a futile effort, and the child told him that attempting to understand the Trinity was also a futile effort for man\'s limited mind.

It seems that sites on the web that refer to this story are Roman Catholic, as it is depicted in paintings and stained glass windows and such...
